Swearapy Therapy:

Show up authentically on your good, bad, and ugly days.

A young man with curly hair, glasses, and a big smile, sitting on a black leather sofa, wearing a short-sleeved orange shirt and gray shorts, gesturing with his right hand, with tattoos on his left arm, against a plain beige wall.
A black and white graphic speech bubble with the text 'f*ck yes to therapy' and decorative sparkles around it.

Image Description: Wash sits in a black leather armchair, smiling and gesturing with one hand. He wears an orange short‑sleeved button‑up shirt, gray shorts, and glasses, with a tattoo visible on his arm. A speech bubble in the upper right corner reads “f*ck yes to therapy,” framed by an orange border against a neutral background.

About Wash and the Work…

A smiling young man with curly hair and glasses, wearing an orange shirt, sitting on a black sofa inside a room with a large window.

Image Description: Wash sits in a dark chair beside a large window, wearing an orange button‑up shirt and dark shorts. He has short curly hair, glasses, and a relaxed smile. Soft natural light from the window brightens the scene against a neutral gray wall.

I am a queer and transgender therapist who has been living and working in Waterloo Region providing therapy and 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion education for over a decade. I use he/they pronouns and am a Sea Horse Dad. My favorite food is cheese, my favorite color is purple, and my favorite poem is Wild Geese by Mary Oliver.

My Experience…

For more than a decade, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people across Waterloo Region through my work with OK2BME (Camino), CMHA, and the University of Waterloo. I help clients navigate anxiety, depression, relationship shifts, neurodiversity, executive functioning challenges, identity exploration, and the messy, meaningful work of healing.

I also bring extensive experience in gender‑affirming and sex‑positive care, supporting transgender and non‑binary folks through counselling, resource navigation, and OHIP secondary assessments.

I graduated with my Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2013 and am a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

My Approach…

My style is collaborative and trauma‑informed — honest, curious, and grounded. I meet you where you’re at and help you understand your story, your patterns, and your relationships so you can move toward the changes you’re ready for.

I offer individual (ages 13+), couples, and family counselling virtually and have some availability to offer in person eco-therapy in waterloo region and at WorkHaus Kitchener-Waterloo, a local co-working place.

Eco-therapy is all about connection. It is an experiential therapeutic practice that supports personal growth by nurturing our relationship with ourselves, the earth and to those around us. Eco-therapy can include walk-talk sessions, a focus on sensory awareness, nature based activities, mindfulness practices, settling our nervous systems and honoring intuitive instincts.
